A Very Important Day

Today's a very important day for a very important person in my life. Today is my dad's 60th birthday! I was so excited to shop in the milestone birthday card section this year for him... why are those so fun? It's honestly surreal to me that he is turning 60 though, because not too long ago I thought that age sounded SO old. It's amazing how as we get older, our parents seem younger... or is that just me? 60 doesn't seem old at all, even if I will poke fun of my dad now that he qualifies for lots of senior discounts ;)

I know I mentioned it briefly before, but my dad has accomplished something incredible in the past year. At his 59th birthday he decided it was time to shape up and get his weight back where it needed to be. He was SO committed to this goal and he lost 80 pounds over the past year. I cannot even express how proud I am of him. He set a goal and went after it and now at 60 years old he is feeling better than ever. I couldn't be happier for him, seriously. My dad is someone who has accomplished so much in his life, he truly has an interesting "life resume" that would take too long to share but he has done a lot. I've always been proud of him for a million reasons but now he's just added one more to his list.

Happy Birthday, Dad! You have rocked this past year and I know you'll just keep after it. I love that you never stop setting goals, you always go after what you want and you always come through no matter what those goals are. Enjoy your vacation- you deserve it!!
